WHEN LOVE LEADS YOU ON A JOURNEY, SOMETIMES THAT ROAD STRETCHES A LITTLE FARTHER AND FOR CHASE AND MARLEE, IT WAS A THREE-AND-A-HALF-HOUR DRIVE FROM KATY, TEXAS TO NEW IBERIA, LOUISIANA FOR THEIR DREAM ENGAGEMENT SESSION AT AVERY ISLAND JUNGLE GARDENS. EVERY MILE WAS WORTH IT.
As a Louisiana engagement photographer, I’m always honored when couples travel from out of state to work with me and Chase and Marlee’s story was truly special. Both police officers, they first met through their jobs and quickly discovered that their partnership extended far beyond the badge. Their connection is built on mutual respect, trust, and an undeniable spark that shines through in every image.

Why Avery Island Was the Perfect Backdrop?
Marlee has always loved Avery Island the lush greenery, the moss-covered oaks, and that unmistakable southern Louisiana charm. When she described her vision for a romantic, nature-inspired engagement session that captured the Louisiana vibe, I knew Jungle Gardens was the perfect location. We spent the afternoon exploring the gardens’ bamboo pathways, arched bridges, and blooming landscapes, taking our time to soak in every detail. The day was perfectly clear, and as the sun began to set, we were gifted with golden light that wrapped around them like something out of a dream. That last hour of sunshine often called the golden hour is what every photographer hopes for. The way Chase looked at Marlee in that warm glow said everything about their love. It was effortless, genuine, and full of joy.

A Love Worth the Drive!
One of the greatest compliments I can receive as a photographer is when couples go out of their way to work with me. Chase and Marlee drove more than three hours for their Louisiana engagement photos, and I’m beyond grateful they trusted me to tell their story. Their energy and laughter made the entire session unforgettable.
Every frame reflects their connection the quiet moments, the laughter, and the way they naturally fall into each other’s arms. Their Avery Island engagement session wasn’t just about photos; it was about celebrating who they are and the love they’ve built together. Chase and Marlee, thank you for allowing me to capture such a beautiful chapter in your story. I hope every time you look at these images, you’re reminded of that golden Louisiana sunset, the peace of Jungle Gardens, and just how far love can take you literally and figuratively.
I’m beyond grateful they trusted me with something so special and made the long drive to let me capture their story. Their session is a beautiful reminder that love knows no distance and that when you follow your heart, magic happens.
