Lauren & David | A Romantic Wedding at La Savoie in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana
Some love stories begin with a swipe, a blind date, or a chance meeting at just the right time. Lauren and David’s began a little differently. Their story started in the sky, with David flying Lauren back and forth from clinic to clinic. And somewhere along the way, the man behind the controls became the man she couldn’t imagine doing life without.
Honestly, I think that is one of the sweetest things about their story. Before there was a wedding day, a proposal, or a room full of people celebrating their love, there were flights, adventures, and two people discovering that maybe the person they were looking for had been right there all along.
On October 16, 2026, Lauren and David celebrated their wedding at La Savoie, The French Farmhouse Venue in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. With European-inspired architecture, stone walls, gravel walkways, and Louisiana live oak trees draped in Spanish moss, it was a beautiful setting for a couple whose relationship has always made room for adventure.
But if you ask me, the prettiest part of their wedding wasn't the venue or even the thoughtful details. It was the story behind them, and the way Lauren describes the man she married.
A First Date That Took Their Love Story to New Heights.
When Lauren and David went on their first date, David flew her to dinner. I mean, can we talk about that for a second? Most of us are trying to decide where to meet for dinner, and David was taking Lauren there by plane!
It was the perfect beginning for two people who love flying, traveling, and chasing a little adrenaline. Skydiving, new places, and adventures together are some of their favorite things, so it makes sense that their relationship would have a few stories most couples don't get to tell.
There was also one tiny detail Lauren didn't discover until later. She had agreed to go on a date with David because she thought he was her age. Turns out, he was four years younger than her!
I can only imagine the reaction when she found that out. It's the kind of funny little surprise that becomes part of your favorite relationship stories, the kind you keep telling because it still makes you laugh.
And somewhere between those first flights, dinner dates, and adventures, their relationship became something much deeper than the excitement of doing things together. They found a person they could count on, a person who made life feel a little safer, and a person they wanted beside them for whatever came next.
The Rock City Proposal She Never Saw Coming
If you are going to build a relationship around adventure, you might as well have a proposal story to match.
Lauren and David flew to Rock City, where Lauren got to see her very first real waterfall. She was so excited that she turned around to tell David all about it.
And there he was, down on one knee.
I love that detail. Lauren was caught up in the joy of seeing something new, completely in the moment, when she turned around and found another reason to remember that day forever. David had chosen a moment of pure happiness and made it even more unforgettable.
I imagine that is one of those memories that will always make them smile when they look back on their relationship. The waterfall was beautiful, the adventure was special, but the real surprise was the person standing in front of her, asking to spend the rest of his life by her side.
For two people who love traveling and experiencing life together, it feels fitting that their engagement became another adventure they would carry with them into marriage.
The Kind of Love That Makes You Feel Safe Enough to Be Yourself
When I asked Lauren what she loves most about David, her answer was the kind that makes you pause for a second.
She said he makes her feel completely safe, understood, and genuinely chosen. No matter what life brings, he is the person she wants beside her through all of it. She also loves that he lets her be herself, even when it embarrasses him sometimes.
That last part made me smile, because isn't that what the best kind of love looks like? Someone who knows the real you, the silly you, the unfiltered you, and the you that doesn't need to impress anybody — and loves you anyway.
There is something incredibly beautiful about finding the person who makes you feel like you don't have to shrink yourself or pretend to be someone else. Someone who can be your adventure partner when life is exciting and your steady place to land when it isn't.
The airplanes and travels are wonderful. The adrenaline-filled adventures are wonderful. But having someone who makes you feel safe, understood, and chosen? That is the good stuff. That is the kind of love worth building a life around.
And on their wedding day, that was the love everyone had gathered to celebrate.
A Romantic Wedding at La Savoie, The French Farmhouse Venue
La Savoie in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, was a beautiful backdrop for Lauren and David's wedding. The venue has a European-inspired feel, with stone walls, gravel walkways, elegant interiors, and gorgeous live oak trees draped in Spanish moss. It brings together the charm of an old-world setting with the unmistakable beauty of South Louisiana.
The floor-to-ceiling glass walls look out toward the oak trees, creating a connection between the indoor space and the landscape beyond. The natural textures and elegant design give the venue plenty of character without needing to cover every corner in decorations.
As a wedding photographer, I love places that have a feeling of their own. Give me beautiful architecture, natural light, meaningful details, and two people who are genuinely in love, and there is so much to photograph.
For Lauren and David, the setting was also a reminder that a wedding doesn't have to feel like a production. It can be beautiful and thoughtfully planned while still feeling relaxed, personal, and full of the people who matter most.
If you're searching for a wedding venue in Breaux Bridge or near Lafayette, Louisiana, La Savoie is worth exploring for its European-inspired atmosphere and Southern landscape.
Wedding Photography That Preserves the Feeling, Not Just the Pretty Details
Portrait and lifestyle photographer, based in Canada.
This is the part of wedding photography that means the most to me. Yes, I want to photograph the gorgeous venue, the invitation suite, the little personal touches, and the portraits you will proudly frame in your home. But I also want to remember how the day felt.
The way you look at each other when no one is asking you to pose. The hugs that last a little longer. Your favorite people laughing together. The details you chose because they mean something to you, even if another person might walk right past them.
My approach to wedding photography combines documentary storytelling with gentle direction. I want you to have beautiful, intentional portraits, but I never want you to feel like you have to spend your wedding day performing for the camera. I'll guide you when you need help, then give you room to be yourselves.
My style is true-to-color editorial wedding photography, with natural tones, thoughtful composition, and a mix of candid moments and relaxed portraits. I want your photographs to look beautiful without losing the realness of the people and memories inside them.
Because one day, when you look back at your wedding gallery, I want you to remember more than how everything looked. I want you to remember the people, the laughter, the excitement, and the feeling of being surrounded by love.

Lauren and David, Here's to a Lifetime of Adventures
Lauren and David, your story is such a sweet reminder that love can be exciting and steady all at once. It can take you to new places, put you on a plane headed for dinner, surprise you with a proposal beside a waterfall, and still feel like the safest place in the world.
I hope your marriage is full of the adventures you love, the places you have yet to discover, and the kind of laughter that comes from knowing someone well enough to be completely yourself. I hope you keep finding reasons to get out into the world together, and that through every new experience, you continue to choose each other.
Most of all, I hope you never lose the feeling Lauren described so beautifully: being safe, understood, and genuinely chosen.
What a wonderful thing to find in another person. What a wonderful thing to celebrate.
And what a beautiful beginning to a lifetime together.
